Helicopter pioneer. Involved with development of the Sikorsky VS-300 and XR-4. Member of experimental teams on subsequent helicopter models. Participated in the first cross-country delivery flight of a helicopter (the XR-4) in 1942 from the Sikorsky Plant in Stratford, Connecticut to Wright Field in Dayton Ohio.
Charter member of the American Helicopter Society. Recipient of a 1947 AHS Certificate of Merit for meritorious contributions to the development of rotary wing aircraft.
