I love our historical, thrilling aviation history and read and researched all I could read over a 3 year period. As a Girl Scout, I was a Senior Wing Scout in Chicago, IL. We were privileged to preside in the Museum of Science and Industry where I personally demonstrated and “flew” the Lin k Trainer for adults. I was 14 or 15 years old. Then we were allowed to enter the Odem’s bombshell.
WWII and family interrupted my career. My brother and a cousin were killed in action. My mother said she couldn’t go through it again. I went to Travis Air Force Base, the Navy base in San Diego (as a RN) and other bases but didn’t sign up because of family reasons.
