Alan R. Cunningham, from Exxon Research and Engineering Company, participated in a NASA/DOD jet fuel study in the 1980s. The study examined jet fuel costs and the quantity of fuel which could be produced as a function of jet fuel properties. Cunningham developed the refinery computer models used.
