    Born 9-11-21 in Lockney, TX. Thomas Barlow and Elizabeth Pearl Hill. Honor grad of Lockney High School in 1939 and Texas Tech in 12951. Enlisted U. S. Army Air Corps 8-6-40. Weather Dept. Lowry Field., Denver, CO. Grad of Weather Forecasting School, Chanute Fld, Ill. And bombardier Training School Roswell, NM as 2nd LT October 10, 1942. Assigned to New 386th Bomb Group (B-26), 553rd Bomb Squadron at Tampa FL. As Squadron Bombing Officer Combat Training in Tampa and Lake Charles. Ordered to England via Canada, Greenland, Iceland, and Scotland, and arrived Boxted, England 7-1-43, First combat mission 7-30-43. Completed 79 combat missions over France, Belgium, and Holland. Lead Bombardier for 45 missions. Wounded twice. Returned to U. S. 9-25-44. Rank of Major, 386th Group Bombing Officer. Separated from active duty service 12-12-45. Continued USAF Reserve –National Postal and Travelers Censorship until retirement as a Colonel 8-26-71.
    Received Presidential Unit Citation, Silver Star, DFC, Air Medal with 13 Oak Leaf Clusters, Purple Heart with one Oak Leaf Cluster, European Campaign Medal with three Battle Stars, American Defense Service medal, American Campaign Medal and World War II Victory Medal.
