I've loved aviation and flying since I was a child. I especially loved sailplanes and thought they were the most beautiful things I had ever seen. As a teenager I was lucky enough to have had my beginning sailplane flight instruction from a truly great and generous flight instructor, named Alcide (Al) Santilli. One thing that made it especially significant for me was the legacy of flight that was being handed down to me. For Alcide Santilli had been taught by and had his pilot certificate endorsed by Orville Wright. The Air & Space Museum very much represents the idea that man's vision has always exceeded his grasp. I'm proud to support it.
