Air and Space Friend
Honored by:
Austin L. Vick
Alexander Conwell Strickland, Jr. served in World War II as a B-17 pilot and was promoted to Lt. Colonel at 23 years of age. He was an instructor pilot during the Korean conflict and an Executive Pilot in private industry until his retirement. He was a dedicated pilot and inspired many young people to reach for the sky!
Before he passed away in 2011, he was still talking about building just one more airplane. He never lost his fascination with flying and “talking about flying” to anyone who would listen. He was definitely one of the Greatest Generation.
Wall of Honor profiles are provided by the honoree or the donor who added their name to the Wall of Honor. The Museum cannot validate all facts contained in the profiles.
