    WWII B-17 Lead Bombardier for the successful "First over Germany" mission, 1944. Recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross [8th AF; 306th BG; 367th BS]. During an exceptional 50-year post-war career in the garment/textile industry, NASA requested he design a space-worthy thread essential to help fabricate a spacesuit for astronauts. Attaining this goal, he received NASA's Certificate of Achievement as a vital member of the successful Apollo 11 team's first landing on the moon, July 20, 1969.
