    Herman, Morris and Alex Cramer bought a plane in 1926 when they were 18, 16 and 13. The brothers learned to fly in the middle of Kansas. They learned how to repair (from mishaps) the plane there too. Herman worked during the War as an engineer at the Boeing plane in Wichita. Morris served as an Army Air Corps Mechanic. Alex served as a Navy C-54 pilot. Morris and Alex, two farm boys from Kansas met for lunch one day on the island of Tinian in early 1945. Both served in the military until retirement. William Blankonship served during WWII as a C-54 pilot flying the Hump with supplies into China.
