Al worked as a Project Engineer for Jack & Heintz, a War Department contractor, during WWII. In1944 a V-1 rocket struck England and didn’t explode. This rocket was sent to Wright Field in Ohio. Al headed a team that had 12 weeks to create a guided missile for the United States. Al did the reverse engineering on the V-1 and then he personally designed our first cruise type missile. He designed the autopilot and included a magnetic compass. As soon as he completed the blueprint design, for a piece of the new rocket, the blueprint was sent to the shop to be used to fabricate and then assemble. They were done in the 12 weeks.
Al has designed and manufactured precision parts and machinery for the auto industry from 1970 to 2000.
