    Wall of Honor Level:
    Air and Space Leader

    Honored by:
    Ms. Helen Howard

    Born in Tabor, Texas, 1928
    Died, 2000
Attended Texas A&M University. Received a B.S. in Aeronautical Engineering.
Worked for Anderson, Greenwood, & Company upon graduation from college (1946). Participated in the design, development, testing, and certification of the model AG-14 aircraft (single-engine, two-seat, pusher configuration). The airplane was put in production, but in 1953, due to the lack of materials because of the Korean War effort, airplane production was stopped.
Al also worked on the design, development, and testing of a solid-fuel, ramjet assisted projectile for the U.S. Army, and a ramjet sounding vehicle for high altitude meteorological studies.
Al led the design, development, and stress analysis efforts on an aerial tow target system for air-to-air gunnery training. This was adapted for use on aircraft including the F80, F84, F86, F100, F104, F105, F4, and the F5.
He was in charge of the program to design, develop, and certify the model AG-51 aircraft (marketed as the model Aries T-250). It was certified in 1976, and put into production at Bellanca Aircraft. The aircraft was an all metal, low wing, T-tailed, high performance piston engine airplane, seating four people.
Al retired as Vice President and Director of Anderson, Greenwood & Company in 1983. He was the founder of Presnal Engineering Co., continuing the manufacturing of the tow target reel system for the U.S. Air Force, as well as leading the design and development of a new two place aircraft.
Al had a love for aviation and aircraft, and was both a leader and mentor in the industry. He was always helpful, eager, and interested with learning engineers. He is missed very much.
