Served in the US Navy, Airborne Early Warning Squadron, from 1959 to 1962. Stationed at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Squadron VW-15 flying out of Argentia, Newfoundland, and VW-13 stationed in Argentia, Newfoundland flying out of Keflavik, Iceland.
Upon discharge from the Navy pursued a career in aviation. Became a flight mechanic for Bendix Flight Operations contracted to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as a flight mechanic on General MacArthur's converted Super Connie, The Bataan. Calibrated tracking stations all over the world for the Apollo Manned Space Program.
