14th Air Force General Orders Number 61, 25 May 1945, read (in part):
The DISTINGUISHED FLYING CROSS is hereby awarded to MSgt Anthony L. Wojciak, Aerial Engineer, 322nd Troop Carrier Squadron for extraordinary achievement in aerial flight. He distinguished himself while taking part in more than 300 hours of operational flight in transport type aircraft between 29 January 1944 and 6 April 1945. Although his planes were heavily laden with cargo and were unarmed, he frequently flew near enemy territory where attack from enemy ground guns and hostile aircraft was probable and expected. Nevertheless, he exhibited cool determination in carrying out his missions. His flights-were made over rugged terrain and frequently through adverse weather with a minimum of navigational aids. The skill and courage demonstrated by-MSgt Wojciak reflect high credit upon himself and are in keeping with the fine traditions of the Army Air Forces.
