    Sgt. Anthony Wayne Marchowsky, born Nov. 23, 1951, Pottsville,Pa. Parents, Anthony S. and Betty Marchowsky, Minersville,Pa. Graduated Minersville Area High School was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross on 16 December 1972. Sgt. Marchowsky distinguished himself by extraordinary achievement while participating in aerial flight as a C-130E Loadmaster for the 345th Tactical Airlift Squadron at Phnom Penh, Cambodia. On this date Sgt. Marchowsky flew a vital resupply mission carrying critically needed ammunition to besieged friendly forces. During offload of the ammunition the airfield came under mortar fire from hostile forces; despite the eminent danger to himself and his fellow crew members, Sgt. Marchowsky wasw successful in offloading all of the ammunition. The professional competence, aerial skill, and devotion to duty displayed by Sgt. Marchowsky relect great credit upon himself and the United States Air Force.
