Born and raised in in Minden, LA. Graduated West Point, 1948 and commissioned in USAF. Flew jet fighters, including F-80, F-84, F-86, F-100, F-4, A-10, F-15, and F-16. Flew 155 combat missions in Korean War, 40 missions in Vietnam. Total flying time over 5000 hours. Served as combat flight leader, squadron commander, senior staff officer and commander of a USAF major air command. Last position after 35 years of service: Commander, Pacific Air Forces. Retired from active duty October, 1983.
