    Arthur E. Flock, Jr. retired on February 18, 1972 as Vice President, General Manager of the Lockheed-Georgia Company C-5A Program. A gifted engineer, Flock graduated first in his class in 1936 from the prestigious Parks Air College (now affiliated with St. Louis University) and immediately joined Lockheed in Burbank, CA. Flock's illustrious 36 year career spanned from positions in design to various engineering and managerial roles culminating as Vice President General Manager of the C-141 and C-5A transport programs. He became part of history in 1963 when he was on board the USS Forrestal to witness the first C-130 to land on an aircraft carrier.
