    Arthur J.Perschino is founder and advisor to The Columbus Magnet School chapter of the Young Astronauts in Norwalk, Connecticut,which in 1984 became one of the first chapters in the nation. In 1987, Mr. Perschino was recognized by President George Bush in a special ceremony at the White House, as the top Young Astronaut leader in the country at the elementary school level. He attended the International Cosmic Jamboree in Hyogo, Japan in 1997, as an invited guest of the Japanese Young Astronaut representing the United States of America. He also helped spearhead the first Connecticut Young Astronaut Conference at the Norwalk Community College in the spring of 1997. He presently conducts a Young Astronaut program at the Walter M. Schirra Elementary School in Old Bridge, New Jersey.
