He served in the U. S. Navy during World War II as an Aviation Machinist’s Mate Second Class. He flew with a crew in the South Pacific. Was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, the air Medal, and several gold Stars. Inducted 3/9/43 and Discharged 3/14/46, Continued interest in Aviation until his death 7/4/99.
