    Honored by:

Barbara (Hornby) Wigglesworth married then First Lieutenant (USAF) Richard Wigglesworth in DeKalb, IL in 1959 and promptly became a devoted Air Force Wife and aviation enthusiast. A registered nurse by vocation, Barbara volunteered her services at Red Cross chapters and worked at community hospitals while stationed with her husband, first at Toul-Rosieres Air Base, France, and subsequently at Manzano Base. NM; Hill AFB, UT; and Wright-Patterson AFB, OH. Through personal initiative and courage while at WPAFB, she worked diligently to become an accomplished aviator in her own right. She gained her private pilot license and instrument rating while a member of the Wright-Patterson AFB Aero Club and served as the Club's secretary. During her husband's -assignment at the Pentagon, Barbara earned BS and MS Nursing degrees magna cum at George Mason University — all while holding the full time position of Director of Education at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Alexandria. During their last Air Force assignment at the SHAPE Technical Centre, Barbara served under the Ambassador to the Netherlands as the Community Liaison Officer at the American Embassy in The Hague. Barbara lovingly mothered three precious children: Sue Ann Vorherr, Sharon Kay Barclay, and Mark David Wigglesworth all now grown, to become upstanding citizens.
