Served in the 8th Air Force, England during World War II as a radio operator and left waist gunner in the B-24 Liberator Bomber “Rum ‘N’ Coke”. Assigned to the 713th Bomb Squadron (H), 448th Bomb Group (H), 20th Combat Wing (H), of the Second Air Division.
