Mr. Sarao Is an active member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics. He served as the Chair of the AIAA History Technical Committee from May of 1997 to May of 2000. He contributed significantly to the better understanding of how to design safer crew compartments on the Space Transportation Systems by forcing NASA to release data about the ill fated Challenger Space Shuttle Crew Compartment and forward fuselage in Federal court under the Freedom of Information Act.
