Throughout her lengthy career as a science teacher, Mrs. Sims generated interest and enthusiasm regarding the Space Program. Organizing and directing Young Astronauts Clubs, taking young people to Space Camp and developing an Aviation and Aerospace curriculum for classroom use are among her endeavors and achievements.

Her Aviation and Aerospace unit leads students through the development of aviation from Leonardo da Vinci to the International Space Station and includes a study evaluating paper airplanes in three categories: distance, duration, and aerobatics. Mrs. Sims is an excellent teacher, devoted to her students, who stirs interest and appreciation among them for aviation and space exploration.
