    Born Sept. 23, 1915 in Oakland, CA. Flew 50 missions in a B-24 from Cerignola, Italy, while assigned to the 455th B.G., 741st B.S. with 7trips to the Ploesti Area. Got all shot up on mission to Moosebirbaum, Austria, barely made it home with two wounded.
    Came home and was stationed at Victorville, CO; Buckley Field, CO.; Dalhart, TX; Colorado Springs, CO; Roswell, NM; and was transferred to JAMA, Japan. Here I became Chief of Flight Test. Flew my first jet, a P-80, in 1948. I would fly 68 different aircraft upon retirement.
    When the Korean War started I was one of the first in to evacuate people in an old C-47. I later went back and became the C.O. of the 101st FMU. Later transferred to the Z.I. to L.A. Recruiting District as C.O., then to Tyndall AFB, FL. Then back to Japan as DCO of 68th FIS flying the F-86 and F-102s. Retired to Travis where I retired. Have 9 decorations including DSC and five Air Medals.
