Dreamed of flying back as long as he remembered. During high school at age 16, he learned to fly at the Bisbee, Arizona Airport. After high school, he attended college at Flagstaff, AZ until 2nd semester of Senior Year. At that time, his mentors urged him to apply to Darr Aero Tech as a civil flight instructor at Mariana, AZ. He trained at Selma, Alabama along with men older than he was. Stayed with Darr until February, 1956. Then went to work for United Airlines. He flew as Flight Engineer, Copilot, and then Captain until retirement in 1992. Built two Glasairs after that.
