    Retired Air Force Brig. Gen. John 0. Gray is
    currently an emeritus member of the Board of Directors of the 155,000-member international Air Force Association and an Trustee Emeritus of its affiliate, the Aerospace Education. He also serves on the Board of the Air Force Memorial Foundation. He has been Executive Director twice in the past and in this capacity, he served as Executive Director of both AFA and AEF, as well as Publisher of the Association's highly acclaimed AIR FORCE Magazine.
    His active-duty military career began immediately after commissioning as an Army second lieutenant in June 1941 from ROTC at the University of Idaho, where he majored in economics and business. He served as a staff officer in the Office of Materiel, Lubbock Army Air Base, Texas, and in August 1942, was assigned to the Eighth Air Force Service Command in England. In January 1944, he was assigned to Headquarters Eighth Air Force at High Wycombe, England, and in November 1945, to Headquarters United States Air Force Europe at Wiesbaden, Germany. He was relieved from active duty in April 1946 and was recalled in 1951 during the Korean Conflict. In March 1953, he began a four-year tour as Reserve Forces Liaison Officer in the Secretary of the Air Force Office of Information. In February 1957, he returned to civilian life and was active in the Air Force Reserve. In addition to a reserve assignment as Director of Information in the Office of the Retired Air Force Brig.
