    Hank Cobleigh was a B-24 pilot with the legendary 450th Bomber Group, 47th Wing, 15th Air Force (the "Cottontails"), stationed in Manduria, Italy. He flew 47 missions over Nazi-occupied Europe, including bombing raids on Hitler's oilfields in Ploesti, Romania.
    For his service, Lieutenant Cobleigh received the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Air Medal with six oak leaf clusters, the Mediterranean Theatre Medal, seven bronze battle stars, and the Purple Heart.
    He remained an Air Force reserve pilot for ten years following World War II.
