    Honored by:

    C. James McCormick was born on January 3, 1925 on a farm in southern Indiana near Vincennes. During his early career in the trucking business, he developed a passionate love affair with aviation and airplanes. His companies have owned Cessna 172's, 182's, Beech Bonanzas, Twin Bonanzas, Barons, a Duke, Queen Airs, King Airs, and a Cessna Citation Jet. He is an instrument and Jet rated twin engine commercial pilot, and has flown over 6,000 hours as pilot in command. C. James served five Indiana governors, both Democrat and Republican, over twenty years on the Aeronautics Commission of Indiana. He was Chairman of the commission for approximately ten years and was still serving in that capacity when the Indiana legislature decided to "sunset" the Aeronautics Commission and to merge it into the Indiana Department of Transportation.
