    Bud (born 1915) has pursued a lifelong love affair with aviation. He was employed by Douglas Aircraft Corp. in 1936. He received his FAA Aircraft and Power plant rating in 1939 and his FAA Inspection Authorization rating in 1941. Bud served as a Technical Representative for Douglas in North Africa during WWII.
    He received his Private Pilots License in 1939 and his Commercial License in 1960. Since joining the Experimental Aircraft Association in 1954, Bud has built or rebuilt sixteen aircraft including some scratch projects as well as certified aircraft. Numerous awards have been received for his projects. His EAA Acrosport biplane is on display in the EAA museum in Oshkosh, WI.
    He has inspired a love of flying and aviation in many young people through hands on aircraft construction projects and participation in the EAA Young Eagles program. In 1995 Bud received the FAA Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award for fifty years of dedicated service, expertise, professionalism, and contributions to further the cause of aviation safety.
