Our father has always loved anything to do with aviation. Before we were born, he began working for Boeing in Seattle - a job he still remembers fondly. After he left Boeing, his fascination with planes continued. As he ventured into different employment, he racked up millions of frequent flyer miles on every plane imaginable. When he was home & a plane would fly over, he'd point up and tell us what type of plane it was. When the Udvar-Hazy Center opened, we took him there for Father's Day. He was so incredibly knowledgeable it was as if we had our own private docent! We all told him he should get a job there, and so, he did! He looks forward to his volunteer job at the museum every Sunday. It only seems fitting to have Ira his name located on the wall of honor at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Musem's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center - a place that represents something that means so much to our father, aviation.
