Served in U.S. Army Air Corps and U.S. Air Force as pilot from 1942 until 1965. Flew transports primarily in the A.T.C. and MATS. Completed tour in C.B.I. during WWII and subsequently assigned to Atlantic and Pacific Divisions, flying MATS routes and special missions throughout the world.
Went to work for United Air Lines as flight instructor in 1965 and instructed for four years in DC-6, DC-7 and DC-8 aircraft. Transferred to San Francisco in 1970 and flew DC-8 and DC-10 aircraft until retiring in 1985.
