During World War II, Mr. Burridge served as a Marine Corps flight instructor, aviator and intelligence officer in the Central and Northern Pacific.

In 1950, Mr. Burridge joined General Claire Chennault as a pilot and executive of Civil Air Transport (CAT) in China and worked in Japan and Korea in post-war operations. His flying career covered most areas of China, where he assumed management responsibility which put him in direct control of the evacuation of a large part of the Chinese Government from the China Mainland to Taiwan. He later became responsible for traffic and sales, and government negotiations for operations in the Asia-Pacific area. During his tenure with CAT, he served as director of Japan Domestic Airlines and Korean National Airlines, and was the first president of the Far East Airlines Association.
