    Born Oct. 14, 1926 and raised in the L.A. area. Entered the Navy V-5 & V-12 program June 1944 out of University of Texas. Discharged in 1946. Soloed in civilian aircraft during this period. Graduated UCLA and reentered Navy flight training in 1951. Received wings in 1952 and assigned to anti-sub squadron flying Martin PBM and P5M flying boats with VP-45 based at Panama. Qualified in helicopters and assigned to anti-sub squadron HS-1 in 1955. Retired from Navy Reserve as LCDR in 1965. Left Navy in 1956 and joined United Airlines. Flew as copilot on CVL and B720 and as captain on DC-6, DC-7, B-737, B-727 and DC-8 aircraft. Retired from United Airlines Oct. 1986
    Married Frances in 1952. We have five children and now reside in Dana Point, CA.
