Joined US Navy NAVCAD (Naval Aviation Cadet) program at age 20. Started flight training April 1954. After graduation (wings and commission) assigned to VA72 in Quonset Point, RI. VA72 was the first squadron on the East Coast to get the A4D Skyhawk aircraft in January 1957.
After active duty, flew with the Naval Reserves for a short time, then transferred my naval commission for a US Air Force one. Flew with the USAF Reserves and National Guard. Joined United Air Lines in August 1966. Retired as Captain on 60th birthday, 4 August 1993.
