1957 to 1965 served in U. S. Air force flying B-47 and B-52 aircraft.
1965 to 1995 flew for United Airlines on DC-6, 727, DC-8, 757, and 767 aircraft. Selected as Flight Officer of the Year (1992) for the handling of an in-flight bomb threat.
