Capt. Clayton Brown was born in Winona, MN. In 1917, he learned to fly at age 17. Earned commercial pilot and flight instructor license in 1936. Joined U.A.L. in 1941 after five years as flight instructor. Retired from United Air Lines in 1977 after flying all passenger planes from Boeing 247 to Bowing 747.
