    Member U.S. Air Force 1971-1975 and 1978-1990

    From 1971-1975 assigned to the 533rd Strategic Missile Squadron as a Missile Facility Technician on a Titan II Missile Combat Crew.

    From 1978 to 1990 served as a weather officer assigned to Air Weather Service. Assignments included:

    - Wing weather officer of the 55th Reconnaissance Wing providing weather support to operational SR-71 and U-2 missions.

    - Staff weather officer at the Pentagon. Provided support to the National Command Authority, the White House and Congress.

    - OIC of a NATO multi-national meteorological office supporting Allied Air Forces Central Europe.

    - OIC of the F.E. Warren AFB base weather station supporting Minuteman III and Peacekeeper missile operations of the 90th Strategic Missile Wing.

    - Staff weather office at 3rd Weather Wing supporting Strategic Air Command (SAC) Headquarters and 19 base weather stations supporting SAC operations.

    Witnessed the first test flight of the space shuttle Enterprise.
