Military: Captain, U.S. Navy, Ret.
Earned wings and commission in 1954. Flew eleven types of naval aircraft from single engine propeller, to carrier-based jet fighters, to four engine transports. Completed two Pacific carrier tours aboard the USS Shangri-La and the USS Ranger. Aircraft include SNJ, SNB, F6F, TV-2, F9F-2, F7U-3, T-28, AD-7, C-54, and C-118.
Commercial: Captain, United Airlines
Joined United Airlines in 1957 as a DC-6/7 Flight Engineer. Continued career after returning from furlough in 1963. Flew five types of United aircraft. Retired as a DC-10 captain in 1992. Aircraft include DC-6/7, CVL, 727, DC-8, and DC-10.
