Born December 14,1936 in Decatur, Illinois. Graduated Mt. Zion High School in 1954. Attended Millikin University before entering US Navy Flight Training, NAVCAD Class 23-56, in June 1956. Designated Naval Aviator October 25,1958.
Notable Squadrons: VA-125, VA-216, VA-192, VU-7 and VT-22. Released from active duty and hired by United Airlines as Pilot on April 6,1964. Retired as Captain with UAL on December 14,1996.
