    Designated a Naval Aviator and Distinguished Graduate on 11 December 1975, CAPT Corrigan graduated at the top of his class and went on to become a P-3 Patrol Plane Commander, Mission Commander and NATOPS Instructor. He piloted every series of the P-3 aircraft and was the Test Pilot for the first successful launch of a Harpoon Missile from the P-3B platform. He was the Commanding Officer of Patrol Squadron 22, Task Group Commander of three Seventh Fleet ASW/Reconnaissance Task Groups (CTG 72.2, CTG 72.1 and CTG 72.4), and was twice designated as an Officer-In-Charge, including a Patrol Wing Detachment and a special purpose acquisition program. He flew reconnaissance missions in the Gulf during Desert Storm. In total, he amassed over 7000 hours in the P-3 aircraft.
