    Capt. Donald C. Mark flew for Northwest Airlines from 1944-1977, accumulating 32,172.21 total hours. He attended Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Michigan and was taught high school chemistry by Angeline Lindbergh, mother of Charles. He began flying in 1936 and accumulated time in a variety of aircraft, including the Luscombe 8A, the Culver, the Stinson SR6, the Stinson SM8-A, the Stinson 10A, the Fairchild C-7E and the WACO DPF-7. During World War II, he served in the Michigan Air National Guard and was an instructor pilot. During his 33-year commercial flying career, he flew the Martin 202, Douglas DC-3, DC-4, DC-6, DC-7, Lockheed L-188, Boeing B-377, B-727 and Douglas DC-10. He was a member of the OX-5 Club and the Quiet Bergman. He was a part of the greatest period of growth and technological advancement in the history of civil aviation. He is shown in the accompanying photograph standing with a WACO UPF-7, an aircraft he flew as pilot in command shortly before his 8lst birthday.
