    Don entered the naval Aviation pilot training program in February 1955. Upon completion of training, he joined VF-152 at Moffett Field, CA flying F2H-3 Banshees. After two tours in the western Pacific aboard the USS Hornet and Bennington, he returned to Moffett Field and instructed in the F9F-8T Cougar.
    Don joined United Airlines in February 1961. During a 32-year career he flew DC-6 and 7s, Caravelles, B-727, DC-8, DC-10 and B-747-400s.
    Don retired in 1993 and presently assists in aircraft restoration at the Pacific Coast Air Museum at Santa Rosa, CA.
