He was a Korean War Veteran (fighter pilot). Flew with General Chappy James(first black USAF General) and with Col. Joe Kitterenger (who performed the longest free fall jump at the edge of space using a parachute. He received two citations from President Eisenhower for dead stick landings of F-100s that had flame outs.He worked with Major Howard Johnson on parabolic trajectory on human factors in space flight(late 1950;s)
