Immigrant to Canada from Newcastle-upon-Tyne, England in 1958. Joined royal Canadian Air Force, pilot Cadet program in 1961. Trained as pilot ion De Havilland Chipmunk, Harvard (T6) and T-33. Flew F-86 & CF-104 operationally until retiring in 1966 to join American Airlines. Spent final year in Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller.
Hired at American Airlines in Aug. ’66. Flew Electra, BAC1-11, B727, B707, B747, DC-10, as First Officer. Then B757, DC-10, B757 and B767 as Captain. Retired in March 1997at age 60 after 36 year flying career with only one less landing than take-offs in 18,000 hrs. (one CF-104 ejection)
