Capt. Wieman was commissioned May 7, 1981 upon graduation from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts. He entered flight school on December7, 1981, receiving the coveted "Wings of Gold" in November, 1982. After completion of the P-3 FRS Syllabus, he was assigned to VP-11, NAS Brunswick, Maine in May 1983. During his tour with VP-11, Capt. Wieman deployed twice to Keflavik, Iceland and once to Bermuda. Capt. Wieman was transferred to VT-3 in June, 1986 for duty as a Primary Flight Instructor in the T-34C aircraft. He left active duty in November. 1087 and affiliated with VP-68. He passed amassed over 3,500 flight hours.
