    Rank Achieved – Captain USNR Retired 1976
    Memorable experiences: Served eleven months on West Pacific cruise on CVS-47 with VS-37. 115 day and night straight deck LSO landings.
    Recalled in Cuban Crisis and served in VS-821. 18 months Gitmo and NAS Key West Flying anti-shipping patrols off of Cuba in the Devils Triangle. Assistant Operations Officer briefing admiral daily in Gitmo. Executive Officer in VS NAS Los Alamitos, Commanding Officer of RTU 81 at NAS North Island. Commanding Officer of OPCON NAS Moffett Field. Great experience and a real challenge working with the best officers and men.
    Marital Status: Married to Marianne Ellis and sons Eugene David Ellis and Martin Daniel Ellis; and grandchildren Daniel Gene Ellis, Amber Ellis Alisha Ellis Stephanie Ellis and Ryan Ellis.
