    Captain Frederick Halsted Brown or "Charlie" to his friends entered Aviation Cadets, August 1952 at Bainbridge, GA. In October 1953 received commission and wings at Laredo AF Base Texas. He was then stationed at Scott AF Base, Ill.. He was hired by Capital Airlines in July of 1957, Capital merged with United in 1960 and Charlie retired as a Captain 747's, after 34 years. He flew the Pacific Rim routes and always said, "I make a living at my hobby, I haven't worked a day in 34 years."
