I was born on 10/12/42 in Elmira, NY. I grew up in Mainesburg, PA. I graduated from Mansfield High School in 1960 and graduated from Mansfield University in 1964 with a B.S. degree in math. I taught math in the Elmira School
System from 1964-66. My flying began in 1961. I was hired in May 1966 with United Airlines. I was based in Chicago, IL (ORD) from 1966-1971 and transferred to Washington, DC (DCA, BWI,IAD) for the rest of my career. I flew the DC-6,
DC-7, Boeing 727, 737, 757, 767, 777. I retired on June 1, 2001 on the Boeing 777 after 35 years of service. I married Linda Crittenden in July, 1964. We had 3 children: Cheryl, Scott and Diane.
