After serving six years as a naval aviator in the Royal Canadian Navy, Gary was hired by United Air Lines in 1985. He flew the DC-6, Viscount, Boeing 727, DC-8, DC-10, and Boeing 747-400. Gary was a Captain on the B-747-400 when he retired on January 30, 2000.
