Gary inherited his love of flying from another aviator, his father Guy A. Davis. He has been an avid aviation enthusiast since he was a young boy sitting in his dad's lap flying the family C-195. From soloing a C-140 at 16 to flying ultralights, sailplanes, seaplanes, warbirds, helicopters and aerobatic biplanes all the way up to serving as a Senior Captain on international B-747 flights for Northwest Airlines Gary has remained active in and never lost his love of aviation.

Licensed as an Airline Transport Pilot in both multi-engine land and sea aircraft Gary holds type ratings in the B-727, B-747, B-757, B-767, CVA-340, CVA-440, DC-3, DC-9, and DC-10 aircraft. He plans to add the B-747-400 to the list before he retires.

He is also a CFI-AI and holds commercial privileges in both single-engine land and sea aircraft, helicopters, and gliders as well as a Formula One pylon racing license. At last count he has flown over 75 aircraft types.

In his latest aviation adventure Gary won the Silver Final Race in his "rookie" year at the 2002 Reno National Air Races in his Formula One racer #54 "Midnight Lighting".

Gary's wife Donna is also a private pilot with ratings in both single-engine land and sea aircraft and gliders. Donna and Gary enjoy flying and living on a residential airpark in North Texas with their two son's Ian and Corey.
