    George Press made his first solo flight on July 21, 1956 just two weeks after his 17th birthday. He obtained his commercial pilot’s license on December 8, 1957.
    For 6 ½ years starting in February 1958, he enjoyed flying in the Royal Canadian Air Force as a fighter pilot flying CF-100s, F-86s and CF-101B Voodoos.
    On October 19, 1964 George was hired by United Airlines. As a co-pilot he flew Viscounts, Caravelles, B-720s and DC-8s. As a Captain he flew B-737s, B-727s, B-757s, B-767s, DC-10s and the 100, 200 and 400 models of the B-747. Being a Line Check Airman was part of his duties in the B-737, B-727 and B-747 fleets.
    George retired August 1, 1999 and continues to fly his homebuilt aircraft.
