Hired by United airlines in 1955. Operated as Test Pilot 1956 -1966. Flew MAC operation 1966-1970. Flew Captain in 727, 720, and DC-8 1970-1980. Was in the first group to fly the 767 in 1980-1982. Flew Captain in DC-111 and 747 1983-1989. Was in the first group to fly the 747-400 in 1989. All the while operated as line check airman. Went to second officer of 747 in 1991. Primarily did checkouts of 747 second officers. Retired in 2005.
